Ok not the "real plague". Folks in reenactments like to call illnesses the plague sometimes, and that's what we do. For us the plague can be a common cold if we feel crappy enough.
Rosehips: Is high in antioxidants, vitamin c, and helps with the immune system boost by stimulating the production of white blood cells called lymphocytes, which protect your body against infection and enhancing the function of lymphocytes.
Echinacea: has been found by a Trusted Source to be effective in shortening the duration of your symptoms. Studies have shown that Echinacea can reduce the odds of developing a cold by 58 percent and reducing its duration by 1–4 days. Taking Echinacea regularly may also influence the flu vaccine to be more effective at staving off the disease.
Oat straw: is a full body tonic which strengthens your immunity and builds energy. Oat straw is high in vitamins A, D and E, zinc and silicon, all of which are beneficial for the speedy recovery from the cold and flu.
Cherries: All varieties are highly nutritious and packed with fiber, vitamins, and minerals. Vitamin C is essential for maintaining your immune system and skin health while potassium is needed for muscle contraction, nerve function, blood pressure regulation, and many other critical bodily processes.
Gingko leaf: While its leaves and seeds are often used in traditional Chinese medicine, modern research primarily focuses on ginkgo extract, which is made from the leaves. Ginkgo contains high levels of flavonoids and terpenoids, which are compounds known for their strong antioxidant effect. In traditional Chinese medicine, ginkgo is a very popular treatment for headaches and migraines and pain.
Milk Thistle: Silymarin is the main active ingredient in milk thistle. Silymarin is both an anti-inflammatory and antioxidant.
Marshmallow root: is known to help with sore throats, coughs, and it's flavor makes things easier to enjoy...
