The concept of a Lemon curry started as a joke. For those of you who are die hard Monty Python fans, you may remember when they had their tv show on, there was random shots of Mikael Palin dressed as a distressed old man, in random locations, tilting into the screen shot saying only two words... "Lemon Curry?"
Well... It was supposed to be mostly as a challenge but it came into reality. Never challenge Auntie to come up with anything...because she'll do it! Thus Lemon Nirvana was born!
Lemon Nirvana curry blend is light, citrusy, aromatic, flavorful and a fan favorite! It's one of our most lightest, mildest curries we make and it's very versatile. Quite by accident we found out that it make a fabulous dip too! I also have a girlfriend that makes home made sweet potato chips with this sprinkled on.
I have had one young college student let me know that he makes a curry stew with this as the spices. He uses a can of cream of mushroom or celery soup, adds about a tablespoon or two of Lemon Nirvana to taste, throws stewing vegetables, cubed chicken breast, potatoes, onions and a little parsley or cilantro into the pot... lets it stew in a crock pot for about 4 hours, stirring occasionally, then serves it over noodles or rice, or even Naan bread!
