Imagine yourself at a tea party with Jane Austin and her sisters, now add a bouquet of roses and a touch of high Victorian Romance. This was how a friend describes this new blend.
We were approached by Michelle Novak at one of our events, Midsummer Fantasy Renne Fair in Ansonia, CT., and was reviewing our sugars, when she mentioned that the Velvet Romance Rose sugar was beautiful, but....
"But what?"
"Well, I wonder if it can be a touch more mellow, little less 'rose'?"
Andrew, our very informed help of the day, (he's a fabulous cook and has a very educated palette), suggested a touch of vanilla...
We (Michelle and I) both looked at him as if he just spoke an epiphany!
That night, I got to mixing and creating a blend with just the right rose aromatic with the perfect vanilla mellowness.
Michelle was happily surprised to get a jar to try the next day and when she came back, she thanked us and we came up with the name, "Victorian Kisses" since her daughter mentioned that she likes the Victorian time period and the flavor was reminiscent of the perfect romantic tea party.
