Auntie Arwen's A Blast of Dill is a delightful herbal dill blend that can give your fish, chicken, and vegetable dishes a fabulous uplift of flavor that will please just about everyone at your table. It's simple but delicious blend of Dill, onion, parsley, chives, garlic, lemon and just a pinch of black pepper for a wonderful taste that goes great in a tuna macaroni summer salad, or if you are so inclined, it's a great salad dressing for your green and cucumber summer salad platters!
Let me suggest a couple of great recipes that's been a hit here at home
Refrigerator pickles... a great side dish for sandwiches or hamburgers off the grill.
peel 1 onion and thin slice into 1/4 inch threads.
peel 3 cucumbers and slice into 1/3 inch slices.
(optional is small cauliflower florets, and pearl onions)
combine all the above in a large seal able container and sprinkle about 2-3 large tablespoons of Auntie Arwen's A Blast of Dill (to taste or desire of the dill aspect of flavor)
Add 3 tablespoons of apple cider vinegar or white wine vinegar or any vinegar you happen to like the smell of.
1 tablespoon of Kosher salt, (do not use Iodine salt, makes it taste off).
Combine and stir well till the salt dissolves.
Seal and chill in the refrigerator for 2 days, can last for about 2 weeks at most...(not in my house, because it's gone before the week is out).
Serve on the side with sandwiches or burgers or as a light salad with any white meat dish.
A favorite dip for chips, chopped vegetables and topping for homemade Gyros or grilled spicy chicken fingers!
In a small cereal bowl, mix 1/2 cup of Mayo, 1/2 cup sour cream, 1 large tablespoon of A blast of dill, and finely chopped celery or cucumber and a pinch of salt to taste if desired. Mix well, chill and serve with grilled chicken, fresh cut vegetables, or even as a topping on avocado slices for a delightful cool salad for the spring to late summer.
