Keemun tea, otherwise known as Qimen red tea, comes out the Qimen province in China.
The reason it's called Keemun is that is the spelling it got all the way back in the colonial days. A very smart failed civil servant reinvented himself by learning the production of black tea and went off and started a plantation in the mostly green tea Qimen province. One thing led to another and it became one of the favorites of ingredients of English breakfast tea.
All by itself, it has a fruity, winey taste with a tiny aftertaste of pine, with the color of deep amber in your cup. It's aroma and flavor makes it one of China's famous teas!
