Lapsang Souchong is a type of black tea that is traditionally smoked dried over pinewood, giving it a very smoky deep complex flavor and nose. They pick the fourth and fifth leaves down from the bud to get the full deep rich flavor instead of the light and slightly sweet buds that comprise of many of the lighter colored and flavored teas out there.
