Welcome to Auntie Arwen's cyber-store!

NOTE:

The fall weather is starting and it is time to get your last BBQ's of the season. Auntie is all set for your barbecues, so fire up your grill and get ready for some lip-smackin' flavor. Good on ribs for the calm palate are Pig Out Bigtime; Lazy Dog, and Gypsy Fever. Chicken: Hot to Trot, any of the pork rubs, Gilded Lily, and more. If you want more snap, try Grandpaw's Secret (rather warmish), Flamebreath BBQ, and Flamebreath BBQ with an Attitude. We also have a nice selection of Cajun blends. For steaks, calm blends include Chuckwagon Cowboy (I usually use that with my Blatantly Gahaarlic Salt); Old '97 is a Montreal style steak pepper blend, and Le Bon Voyageur and Argentinian Gaucho are tasty, too...with a bit of difference from the usual.

Remember that when you display a list of the blends or whatever on the shopping cart page, that if you click on the item name, that takes you to a details page which lists ingredients and hints/recipes. For instance, my secret (hah!) Texas style chili recipe is listed under Oregano, Mexican, c/s

Doing low carb? Almost all of our spice blends are carb-free. If you want carbs, you’ll have to browse through our sugar blends and chocolate.

Now, if you want dangerous, check out our chile peppers, and hot blends. We have zesty through abjectly terrifying selections of spice blends there.

Auntie also has a huge selection of botanicals (medicinal herbs, seeds, barks, berries, flowers, etc.). Almost all of our botanicals are organic or responsibly wildcrafted. We carry a number which were popular in folk medicine. But please check with your pharmacist, a reputable holistic healer, or a Master Herbalist before embarking on a self-prescribed regimen.

Hey - Check out our newsletters:

A High Quality of Life is a Very Good Thing. That's why we have only the very finest products to please your sense of taste (and touch). We also carry chocolate-covered coffee beans, organic catnip, and crystallized ginger! Hey, hedonism is a serious pursuit in life!

We have divided the original description of our products into 3 separate areas (ingredients, description, and recipe). All of our blends, teas, and tisanes have an ingredient listing, most products have a description and many have a recipe that Auntie Arwen likes to use the product for.

Favorite Links
Links are like networking. If you find a site that you like, you'd like to see what *they* like. Auntie Arwen has started to post some Really Good Sites, which are top of the heap, quality wise. Some of these may be informational; others goofy. But if you're interested in what's in the link, please do take the time to check these ones out. I have vetted each one and won't toss you to a *shudder* spammer! Most of these folks are Mom & Pop or solo acts; some are full-time; others do their thing while holding down a Real Day Job, or raise kids. But every single one is a winner.

The left side of all pages on the site allow you to do a keyword (or part-word) search in the name, ingredients, descrtiption, and recipe fields.

(Caution, some words [such as Spanish and French words] in the database use special characters and will not match a normal search pattern).

Gentle readers: it's not a typo; apostrophes, accents, and diacritical marks have been omitted in item names because of limitations with database fields and web page formatting code. Sorry about that!

If you care for Oriental / Pacific Rim items, you might be interested in trying our Dragon Kite Formosa Oolong Tea in Loose form.

which is described as:

Grown on the slopes of the southern Himalayas, this half-fermented black tea is a good general-purpose tea. Much better than Barcode Teabags.

NOTE: We do NOT accept any orders from Indonesia or Africa.
