Spice Packaging Information

We hand-pack most of our herbs and blends in 110 ml hexagonal clear glass spice packaging jars. Some items, notably the powdered chili peppers , are packed in 45 ml hexagonal spice packaging jars. A little of those puppies goes a loonnnnnngggg way!

For those of you who are metrically challenged, a 45ml jar holds a little less than 1/4; cup and a 110 ml jar holds a little less than 1/2 cup.

Items sold by weight (oz, 1/2 lb, lb) are packaged in plastic bags.
All Massage Oils are packed in 2 oz. plastic squeeze bottles w/turret caps.

If you care for Oriental / Pacific Rim items, you might be interested in trying our " Barberry root bark, wild " in Cut / sorted form.

which is described as:

Closeout Item, Old Price=$ 5.00 This is your common barberry, whose ovoid shiny red berries make a dandy jelly. The root bark is bright yellow...dyers take note...and provides a lovely yellow shade for leather or wool. Medicinally, barberry was popular among Native Americans as a topical antiseptic, antibiotic, and anti-protozoan agent. It was also a part of the folk medicine of Mongolia and Russia against arthritis (barberry root tea), disorders of mucous membranes, bladder infections, kidney stones, and vaginal complaints (yeast and protozoan infections, as a douche). It is possible that barberry root compounds may also be effective against certain tumors; research is ongoing on this as I write this description. USE WITH CARE!
