Many of our products (especially those in the "Botanical"
category) have various warnings listed in the description. Most notably
"FOR EXTERNAL USE ONLY". Please do NOT disregard these warnings.
The Massage Oils are made with pure almond oil and
essential oils. No mineral oil or other cheap stuff. Our tisanes are beverage
blends which do not incorporate the chai (tea) plant, and which do not
contain caffeine. To prepare, the usual proportions are 1 tsp blend to
1 cup of water.
Many commercial spice blends contain an interesting collection of chemicals,
anti-caking agents and oils. Some of our blends have been made by our suppliers
and may contain these ingredients. We can mix up chemistry-free versions thereof
if you so wish. We do, for example, stock an oil-free Montreal-style steak blend
(we call it "Old '97 Steak
Pepper").
We put a complete list of ingredients on the label, which means
that if you don't see something there, we won't be sneaking it into the bottle
behind your back. Some of you Out There have allergies or special dietary
restrictions, which can limit your spice locker. We will do our best to
provide you with blends which won't aggravate your allergies, religion, diet,
whatever.
MISTLETOE
Taken from a lightning-struck oak, and no ferrous
tools were used in the gathering. It was caught on a clean white cloth
according to the traditional way to gather the best mistletoe, which must
never touch the ground according to folk belief. It is nicely berried,
and contains no preservatives, dyes, plastic infusions, or chemical stabilization
solutions.
Our mistletoe is carefully harvested in December,
near the time of the winter Solstice. Supplies are really limited, as
we can only get one or two plants a year. By special arrangement, you
might be able to buy an entire plant including a small section of the
branch to which it is attached. These plants are some 12-15 or more pounds
in weight...they're huge! Each plant will be individually quoted plus
shipping & handling.
Since we only get maybe one or two whole plants a year. First come,
